The clinic call problem
Patients call when something hurts, when they need to reschedule, or when they are evaluating a new practice. Most clinics miss 20 to 30 percent of these calls because the front desk is on a callback, with a patient at check in, or closed. Patients in pain do not leave voicemails. They call the next clinic on Google. Metrili answers every call within the first ring, runs your intake script, captures insurance and reason for visit, and books the appointment before the patient calls anywhere else.
What Metrili handles for a medical practice
The AI is configured around your practice specifics: providers, services, hours, and intake questions. It can:
- New patient intake with full insurance, reason for visit, and preferred provider capture.
- Booking exams, cleanings, consultations, and follow ups directly into your calendar.
- Rescheduling and cancellation calls with waitlist callbacks to fill openings.
- After hours emergency triage with proper urgency routing to on-call providers.
- Recall and recare follow up via outbound calls (e.g. six-month cleaning reminders).
- Routing existing patients to their assigned hygienist or physician based on caller ID.
HIPAA alignment, real not marketing
Metrili runs on AWS HIPAA eligible infrastructure with a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA). Call recordings and transcripts stay in your tenant only. Patient data is not used to train third party AI models. The AI never asks for or stores Social Insurance Numbers, full payment card numbers, or other regulated identifiers it does not need to do its job. For dental practices in particular this matters because patient calls regularly include insurance details, treatment history, and prescription questions.
Customizable intake by specialty
A general dentist does not run the same intake as a periodontist or an orthodontist. Metrili lets you configure intake questions per service or provider. New patient calls for orthodontic consults can capture different details than calls about emergency tooth pain. A multi-provider clinic can have different rules for each.
Specialties served
- General dentistry, orthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery
- Family medicine and general practice
- Physiotherapy and chiropractic clinics
- Mental health and counseling practices
- Specialty clinics: dermatology, audiology, optometry
- Veterinary clinics
Setup is fast, even for a clinic
Most clinics are fully configured in under an hour. You sign up at app.metrili.com, enter your hours and providers, paste your intake questions, choose a voice, and forward your number. If you have specific transfer rules (urgent calls to on-call doctor, billing questions to office manager), you set those during setup. The AI is live the same day. The 14 day free trial means you can try a full clinic week before committing.
Frequently asked questions
Metrili runs on AWS HIPAA eligible infrastructure with a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA). Data handling, call recording, transcript storage, and access controls are aligned with HIPAA requirements. Specific compliance posture for your practice depends on how you configure it; happy to walk through details before you sign up.
Call recordings and transcripts are stored in your tenant only. They are not shared with other Metrili customers and are not used to train third party AI models. The AI is also configured to not capture or store regulated identifiers it does not need (SIN, full payment card numbers, etc).
Metrili integrates with calendar systems for booking. Direct integration with practice management software (Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft, etc) is on the roadmap; currently we deliver structured records that can sync via standard APIs or CSV export.
You configure emergency rules during setup. Urgent dental pain, after hours medical emergencies, gas leaks at the clinic, etc, all route to on-call team or a designated mobile number. The AI also gives basic guidance (e.g. "if you are in severe pain, please go to your nearest emergency room") before transferring.
Plans start at $149 CAD per month with a 14 day free trial. No setup fee. Higher tiers add outbound campaigns (recall calls) and more minutes. Multi-provider clinics typically run on the Growth tier.
Most do not realize it on routine calls. Patients calling with complex emotional issues sometimes do, and the AI handles those gracefully (acknowledges, takes the message, transfers to a human callback). The demo line at +1 365 617 0711 is the actual AI; call it as a patient would and judge for yourself.
Metrili currently supports English. French support is on the roadmap.
